Step Aside Sparkles?
Companies sure are robbing the cradle these days. “Mitchie Brusco… now has deals, largely for free merchandise, with makers of skateboard shoes, pads and four companies making skateboard parts. And with Jones Soda, whose energy cola is big with skateboarders, and with Lego, for blocks to make little skate parks.” Looks like Ryan Sheckler has a friend and a competitor nipping at his heels. Catch Ryan at the Tampa Pro Contest. That’s right, He’s entered as pro at 13 years old. As of 4:20 pm Thursday, Koston has not been seen in Tampa.

Zzzzzzzzlow down buddy.
Proposed change: Confine mobility scooters, skateboarders and inline skaters to the footpath, allowing a maximum speed of 10km/h. Would that have saved Detective Frankie Smith?

Bust Us for Cancer
More than 75 skateboarders in Raleigh banded together to raise money for the American Cancer Society and to show Raleigh city officials that building a skatepark would be a good idea. Raleigh police banded together to stop the whole thing. skatenc.com promoted the event. “Every time they see a skateboarder they assume we’re making trouble.” What sux is for once, they were trying to making a difference.

“Stalking Kids Since 1995″
“We exist to help agencies and businesses better understand and more effectively communicate to 8 to 24 year olds.” We can guess that Tobin Yelland and Mirko Mangum already know that this sux. But we have no idea how Cab is supposed to read this thing? Hell, maybe it will offer him some relief.

Cease and Desist CKY4 DVD
The Skatepark of Tampa has a fun article on their site. John J. Hallinan, III and his employer, Food Emporium, Inc. t/a Dutton Mill Shop’N Bag (”DMSB”) have demanded the cease and desist of all further sales of the “CKY4″ DVD. “The CKY4 DVD includes a segment called “Shopping Cart Drama” in which Mr.Hallinan and DMSB are portrayed in a very unflattering manner. Neither Mr.Hallinan nor DMSB consented to being included in the CKY4 DVD, and no releases were obtained from either of them by the DVD’s producers.” We’re not sure how this is going to pan out but we wanted to be sure that an email address was made available for comment. Careful though, you will be dealing with an Esquire.

Cashing Out
This is the type of article that prompted the existence of this website. To inform the skateboarder and discuss what you might not have known. Skateboarding is big fucking business kids. There is a bit of good news tucked in there about the loss of a former Nike guy. Looks like it was a dumb idea to have him in there in the first place.

Two Studs and a Suds Dud
When we first heard of this Monster Garage episode, we thought for sure that Tony and Jesse would produce one very fine hour of television. Then we had to be informed by way of the mighty press release that a fucking soda company is going to be infecting our minds during the escapade. Another missed opportunity for a true skateboard company.

Huffy Corporate News
A long time ago we used to see Bert Lamar in the back of Thrasher magazines or mixed in with whatever Vision Street Wear was doing. He went his own way and helped bring snowboarding to the mainstream. Nowadays, he is helping Huffy market a new line of skateboards, or at least he has his last name attached to the venture. Mr. Lamar has always been into skateboarding. Huffy has not.
