Mob Xeno Grip Plates

No bubbles no troubles, No griptape no troubles? Sometimes people stay up really really late talking all kinds of smack on how to get rich. Corky Romano still hasn’t bought his boat, but “…Inventor, Tony LaVigne, has designed the Xeno Plates, which are made from a strong, yet light aluminum alloy, that are simply screwed onto any standard skateboard deck. “Radical concepts in skateboard hardware have been far and few between. Xeno is going to change all that and the Xeno Plate™ is proof,” said LaVigne.” Apparantly these things keep you from needing any griptape at all, let alone space-age holy grip paper. Thank Thrasher Magazine for running their ad this month. Xeno Plates may be viewed online and can be purchased through retail skateboard outlets nationwide. For more information, call (561) 750-9288.

“…Legion; for we are many.”

“The Action Sports Tour is the next chapter in the evolution of these sports and its growing legion of stars.” Revised Bible exerpt::And they came to Skateboarding, and saw the demoniac sitting there, clothed and in our right mind, the man who had had the legion; and they were afraid. Could Ken Schanzer, president of NBC Sports, be the second coming of the demonic x-games? Round II… FIGHT! Thank skatedaily for spawning our opinion and the spot to spit nails. Attention Pros: You do NOT have to ride here. Looks like a good spot to drink though.

Jailing Future Olympic Athletes

Someone explain to us and our readers how we are going to be considered Olympians when local police officers are putting us and our families behind bars. A few suckers made a good point in the comments to Dave Carnie’s post. Skateboarding is not lawful. The marketing possibilities of adding skateboarding to the Olympic games are extremely sought after by people that DO NOT skateboard. If you can’t see the problem with these truths trying to merge. Maybe you should just forget about it and go skate. When you step to the handrail… You either do it or you don’t. If you walk away not knowing… Then you have no business discussing anything here with the ones that know.

Guest Penis: Dave Carnie

Carn Carn has started writing for The Skateboard Mag and has taken a position in the new USAS. We’re going to give him an uncensored medium when he has time. Cuz we Love him. Dave sent us some mail…

Dear Skateboarding Sucks,
…The reason I’m writing, is to tell you about the USAS. which I like to call US ASS! which is “USA skateboarding.” yes, sounds bad, I know. but guess what? I’m an executive board member.

First of all I’m proud to be a part of this group. Second I don’t like it. I mean, this is what I’ve been clamoring for over a year now: all of skateboarding’s groups, IASC, UPSA, WCSK8 and SPAUSA, needing to organize. They did. I just wish we didn’t have to. but, in order to retain some semblance of what we call skateboarding, we need to form a governing body. Because if we didn’t do it, someone else (like rollersports) will. Now we have one. Hooray.

The meeting itself was hilarious. it was run by Gary Ream and Mike Jacki of Woodward. because of their ties to Olympic gymnastics, they have been approached by the IOC. at first I didn’t like what I was seeing, but in the end I’m glad Gary and mike are there. mike has extensive Olympic experience so he was able to “walk us through” everything. like we had to make motions and nominate people and second motions…we had no idea what the fuck we were doing, but mike coached us every step of the way. it was gay, but whatever, it has to be done. so after we formed the board of directors, we had to nominate the executive board, which is as follows:

Gary Ream, President
Tony Hawk, Vice President
Jim Fitzpatrick, Vice President
Don Bostick, Vice President
Miki Vuckovich, Member
Dave Carnie, Member
John Bernards, Treasurer
Mark Waters, Secretary
Neal Hendrix, Athlete
Buster Halterman, Athlete

I’m happy with the way things turned out and though there’s going to be a lot of bad decisions in the future, at least skateboarders will be making them. Like I said at the beginning, I wish this didn’t have to happen, but it does.

Full story will appear in an upcoming issue of The Skateboard Mag.

Quiksilver Aquires DC Shoes

While we chased rumors of Savier shutting doors, Skatenerd posted facts about DC Shoes. Thanks Philly. Official PDF. The $87 Million seems low… Fact is still fact that there IS a price to be bought at. So Quiksilver’s stock goes up and Pac-Sun’s stock goes down. Is this retailers realizing there is now a logistics problem? VANS stays behind by trying something new that’s actually old while they worry about what happens to Martha. Van Doren can make hamburgers while Martha decorates?

Thanks Suckers!

The Flaming Bag of Crap and skatedaily.net are here to help. Sacklunch updated and we found an Alloy situation. Basically we don’t give a shit about losing a call center for a mail order company. If anyone that worked there happened to ride a skateboard… they worked for the wrong company anyway. Good luck to you phone jockeys in the future of the skateboard indu$try. The loss of that call center is a blessing in disguise. Skate Daily put us in check with the Danny Way link in our last post. We’ll just say thanks and write a check to Danny for the simple fact that he deserves any money spent in skateboarding. Since we pride ourselves on bringing you all the stuff that sucks in skateboarding as fast as possible… We should know when to just let someone else bring you the news. So with that said, have a great weekend with your skateboard… or play 1st post games on the internet suckers.

The Future of Skateboarding

Someone that cares and is trying to make a difference sent us some mail today. skatedaily.net has a post about 411 and Wasserman Media Group. Casey Wasserman apparantly does not ride a skateboard and he is involved with this group. We discussed this with pro skateboarders and we discussed this with shop owners. Then some of us at sux went out and discussed this with kids riding skateboards in the street. Dear Josh, You’ve been booted in the past, and now we know why. You can bet your ass that a lot of skateboarders will now think twice about letting just anyone film what we hold dear to our hearts. It’s not about the money anymore kids. Come to think of it… It never was. The Deal is Done. Again.
